After spending 25 years in the Finance and Information Technology
fields I have been gradually moving into the Art arena. Prior to building
sculptures, I enjoyed working on movie props and 3D computer
animation projects..
Having enjoyed water sports and the outdoors my whole life, I have
participated in flying, sailing, windsurfing, skydiving, scuba diving,
mountain biking and the artful form of juggling. These experiences have
taken me to many interesting places and allow me to draw on these
visual experiences when developing my sculptural concepts..

Ken Smith Sculpture
I am focusing on kinetic sculptures as they offer a dynamic and ever changing visual experience.
There are three basic elements to creating a kinetic sculpture, light (thru the sculpture's finish),
wind (use of local wind currents to create movement) and water (a moving transparent medium).
I am exploring the integration of all three of these elements to create visually stunning pieces of art.
Kinetic sculptures tend to invoke great interest and emotion from the general public and provide
enjoyment for all those who experience them.
Commissions
If you are interested in commissioning a unique sculpture, kinetic or static, I have some interesting
ideas to explore with you. I find that it is best to understand the client's needs and specifically tailor
the sculpture to those needs. Sculpture is a personal and emotional experience and should be
designed around these factors.
